I think this is what I want to do, at least it’s what I’ve been telling people: create interactive data graphics [animations].
I’ve always thought that the infographics in Wired magazine, GOOD magazine, and Tufte’s books were pretty. And the interactive data things on nyt.com are also fun. But this video is what made me begin to think that creating data graphics could be a career for me.
The video is actually about health and the developing world (and our misconceptions of the developing world vs the first world). It’s really interesting! The speaker, Hans Rosling, is a doctor & researcher & a really great presenter:
