Delicious broccoli!

Everything tastes better when you're hungry

Everything tastes better when you're hungry

Lunchbox & I are doing a silly detox to rid ourselves of the Oster Throat Oyster. We’re pretty much trying to starve it to death.

So! Broccoli is allowed on the menu. Instead of chopping it up and blanching it and then dressing it with lemon juice + olive oil, I did this:

  1. Trimmed off the hard part on the stem
  2. Cut it in quarters, like tall trees
  3. Heated olive oil in a pan & cooked them dry, flipping occasionally
  4. Put way too much tamari (fancy soy sauce) & furikake (seaweed + sesame seeds + msg) on top

It was surprisingly good (and too salty)! Which is why I had to blog about it! The stem part of the broccoli actually tasted sweet! I’m not sure if it’s because the broccoli was organic or if it’s because I’ve been drinking water with lemon in it for most of the day.

Addendum: Unlike french fries or cake, there seems to be a limit to how much broccoli tastes good at one sitting.
