The AIGA gallery is nice. It only takes 15 minutes to walk through. There were quite a few designs with a letterpress/woodcut style with an emphasis on funny copy. It seems to go well with the slow food/artisanal stuff movement. And the handmade/real object style is still going strong. It’s like designers are tired of looking at slick, rounded-corner UI style design — at least on paper.

(Future project: compare print design to fashion / rip pages out of a magazine)

The gallery’s at 164 Fifth Avenue (between 21st and 22nd Streets) in Manhattan. Which is right near Madison Square park, where there are a whole bunch of booths set up right now for the holidays with fancy desserts & meats! (Right by the Flatiron building, in that weird triangle are on the SW corner of the park. Hooray for the DOT for turning so many crazy intersections into pedestrian/picnic areas!)
